Eagle Basketball Academy, based in Albuquerque, NM, is committed to developing disciplined and focused Student-Athletes from elementary through middle school.
Our mission is to build more than basketball players—we aim to shape respectful, competitive, and accountable young leaders. Through a consistent system of offensive and defensive principles, we provide structure and clarity at every level.
Our Program instills core values: discipline, respect, effort, composure, and academic responsibility. These qualities guide our athletes both on the court and in their everyday lives.

MEET YOUR COACH!
Coach Loya is the current Head Coach for the Boys Basketball Program at Rio Grande High School in Albuquerque, NM. He brings over 20 years of combined experience as a player, coach, and program builder at the high school, collegiate, and professional levels.
A proud graduate of Valley High School, Coach Loya was a three-year letterman under legendary Coach Joe Coleman. In the 2002–2003 season, he was named All-City, All-District, and All-State, and was honored as the Albuquerque Metro Player of the Year.
He continued his playing career at New Mexico Highlands University (NCAA DII) from 2003 to 2006.
From 2006 to 2010, he played professionally in Mexico playing in various leagues, winning two national championships in Mexico's CONADEIP league.
Coach Loya began his coaching journey in 2010 as the Head JV Coach and Varsity Assistant at Valley High School. Over six seasons (2010–2016), he helped guide Valley to a 114-54 record, culminating in an NMAA AAAAA State Championship in 2014.
In 2016, he returned to professional basketball in Mexico and was appointed the youngest Head Coach in LBE Chihuahua history, taking the reins of Nueceros de Camargo as Head Coach and General Manager in 2017.
That same year, he also founded "Warriors Camargo", a youth basketball club focused on player development and scholarship opportunities in both the U.S. and Mexico.
From 2018 to 2022, Coach Loya served as the Head Assistant Coach at Sandia High School under Danny Brown. During that stretch, the team posted a 27–12 record over its final two seasons, won a District 5-5A Championship in 2021, and made back-to-back Elite Eight appearances in the NMAA 5A State Tournament.
In 2022, he joined Northern New Mexico College (NAIA) as the Associate Head Coach, where he was responsible for recruiting, player development, and overall program operations.
In May 2024, Coach Loya was named Head Coach at Rio Grande High School, where he now leads the Ravens with a vision centered on discipline, hard work, and long-term program growth.
